A bright and attractive FAB with plenty of movement and flash, the Watermelon Mirage combines a strong watermelon tone with the subtle sparkle of Mirage fibres.

Tied using ChuckNDuck Mirage Fritz, the body is made up of a bi-colour mix of watermelon and Mirage tinsel fibres worked throughout the material. This gives the fly a lively appearance in the water, with the Mirage fibres catching and reflecting light as the fly moves, while the watermelon tones keep the overall colour profile distinctive.

The buoyant FAB profile makes this an excellent point fly for washing line setups, helping to keep the rest of the team fishing effectively above it. It can also be used as a searching pattern on its own or as part of other stillwater teams, with the combination of colour, flash and movement giving trout plenty to notice.

A particularly useful pattern when you want something with a bit more sparkle than a standard coloured FAB, the Watermelon Mirage offers a good balance of colour and flash without losing the proven profile of the FAB.
