RJW Sockeye Wiggle Snake

The Sockeye Wigglesnake is a highly effective snake fly inspired by the proven Eggstacy Worm pattern, traditionally fished under the bung on small waters and stocked venues. Although commonly associated with static presentations, experience has shown that trout will often chase and hit Eggstacy-style patterns aggressively on the retrieve, treating them very much like a lure.

Designed to exploit this reaction, the Sockeye Wigglesnake mirrors the profile and irresistible movement of an Eggstacy Worm but is tied in a snake-style format with the hook positioned at the tail of the fly. This greatly improves hook-up rates by targeting tail-nipping fish that frequently miss conventional worm patterns. Tied using supple Eggstacy material to create a pronounced wiggling action, the fly also incorporates a brass bead to add weight and help it fish effectively through the water column.
