RJW Olive Mini Snake

The Olive Mini Snake is a subtle but deadly pattern that excels when trout are feeding confidently but not chasing bright lures. Sitting at 5 cm in length and tied short with the hook positioned closer to the tail, it delivers excellent movement and improved hook-up rates. The hot orange head adds a bold trigger point that contrasts perfectly with the natural olive body, making it effective in both clear and peaty water.

This version is unweighted, giving you full control over the fishing depth by simply varying your line choice. A few strands of electric blue flash are incorporated to provide a teasing hint of shimmer, adding life without overwhelming the fly’s natural appeal. As with other mini snake patterns, its compact profile and mobility make it a go-to choice when trout are locked onto smaller prey or following fry patterns.
