RJW Burnt Orange Shipman’s

The Burnt Orange Shipman’s is a finely tied dry fly that imitates emerging midges and other small insects. The slim body is tied using a hair and squirrel blend dubbing in a rich burnt orange, segmented with a subtle pearl rib to add gentle contrast and trigger strikes. Antron fibers are added to the wing area to enhance buoyancy, helping the fly sit naturally on the surface. This pattern is particularly effective when trout are feeding selectively on emergers during midges and other small insect hatches.
