Olive Holographic Diawl Bach

Olive Holographic Diawl Bach

A modern take on the ever-reliable Diawl Bach, this Olive Holographic version combines the familiar slim, suggestive profile of the original with a little extra colour and flash.

Tied using a blend of olive tones, the fly has a natural, understated appearance that works particularly well when fish are feeding on smaller nymphs and buzzer-style patterns. The olive holographic rib adds a subtle flash as the fly moves through the water, while the Sunburst goose biot cheeks give the pattern a distinctive hotspot without overpowering the overall presentation.

The Diawl Bach is a versatile pattern and can be fished effectively as part of a team of flies, either on the top dropper or middle position, or used on its own when a more subtle presentation is required. It is equally at home on stillwaters and reservoirs, particularly when trout are taking small nymphs, buzzers or other slender food items.

A useful pattern throughout the season, the combination of olive tones, holographic rib and Sunburst cheeks gives this version just enough attraction to stand out while retaining the natural profile that makes the Diawl Bach such a dependable fly.
