Black / Silver Cruncher

Black & Silver Cruncher

A classic Cruncher pattern with a darker profile and added flash, the Black & Silver Cruncher is a versatile stillwater fly that works well when trout are feeding on nymphs, buzzers and other small food items.

Tied with a black body, this fly has a strong, defined silhouette in the water, while the silver holographic cheeks add a touch of flash and movement. The holographic material catches the light as the fly is retrieved, giving the pattern enough attraction to draw attention without making it overly bright.

The Cruncher is a particularly useful pattern when fished as part of a team, with the Black & Silver version offering a good contrast to more natural or brightly coloured flies. It can be fished on a range of lines and retrieves, from a slow figure-of-eight through to a more purposeful pull when fish are actively feeding.

A dependable all-rounder for the stillwater box, this is a good choice when you want a dark fly with just enough flash to make it stand out.
